This afternoon, MES conducted a drill using our emergency action plan. The LOCKDOWN action was practiced from our Standard Response Protocol. An emergency within the school building would dictate this action. This was only a drill. Student safety is our number one priority. Our students did a great job!

Week of Oct. 23 Menu
During Power Hour, we have a few groups building background knowledge about the government to go along with their reading unit. This week their focus was on different government jobs and they researched the Coast Guard, the National Park Service, and the United States Postal Service. They got to do some art this afternoon to tie it all together. ⚓️⛴️
Mayor Allen Lipsmeyer visited with 2nd Grade today to help build knowledge about government. They are learning about governmental services in the community and identifying functions of governments such as establishing order, providing security, and managing conflict. Thank you, Mayor!
